IRC Commands

WebTV Commands for chatting:

 WebTV only supports a few IRC commands for chat. You cannot kick, ban, or make channel(room)  mode changes on Webtv.  Hopefully the options will be expanded as time goes on... until then, the following commands are your only options.

/ignore nick

if you are being harrassed or are offended by another chatter.. this command will make it so you cannot see anything they say, in public or private. 

/join roomname

/join and then a room name.
For example: /join New2Internet  
To make up and join a NEW room of your own just make up a roomname
and follow the same format:
example :   /join Mynewroom 

/me action

For example: if you are using the nickname 'bob'..
 if you type:   /me says hi 
it will show up as: 'bob says hi'. 

/msg nick message

Use this command to send a private message to  people
For example: /msg bob hi 

/who

Use /who to find out who is in the room you are in.  Just type /who and it will show the list of names. You can also click on  people on the sidebar but this is quicker 

/whois nickname

Use /whois to view a persons log-on information.
Then /msg them to find out where they are:) 

/topic

To set a new room topic.
If you create a room, the only ops command you have is /topic
You will not be able to ban or kick anyone
