Downloading of executable files, programs, applications and the various types of software such as shareware, freeware and public domain, should be done only when required, and users need to comply with copyright laws and licence agreements.
Before downloading any software/application to your hard disk ensure:-
copyright laws are adhered to;
licence agreements are maintained;
file storage requirements are considered;
software is properly tested and implemented; and
that software is not unnecessarily duplicated.
Remember that various laws (State, Federal, International) apply to copyrights and licences which usually include penalties for any infringements of those laws.
