INTERNET - Security
All users should be aware that they are responsible for understanding and complying with the security policies of the systems (computers and networks) they are accessing through the Internet, Bulletin Boards, and FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
Users should not try to access secure sites for which they do not have a valid account and password. Where accounts and passwords are used, users should not share either accounts or passwords.
Users are individually accountable for their own behaviour.
Users should be conscious that the Internet spans International boundaries, and that actions may therefore be visible on a world-wide basis.
Security can be applied to Internet documents received and sent, with server authentication, privacy using encryption, and data integrity. Document security information is normally provided within Internet browsing software.
Viruses
Users need to be aware of the risk of downloading/distributing viruses via the Internet. Precautions must be taken when downloading files.
Ensure that the latest Virus Scanning Software and files are in use at all times.
